The Faculty Council is a governing body of the Faculty of Medicine and operates in accordance with § 2 HMG LSA.
The elected Faculty Council has the following responsibilities in accordance with the HMG LSA:
- Election of the Dean and the Associate Deans
- Approval of the annual financial statements and the explanatory report.
In addition, the responsibilities of the expanded Faculty Council are defined. Thus, all university faculty members are entitled to vote on the following decisions:
- in the formation of appointment committees
- in the adoption of resolutions regarding appointment proposals
- in the adoption of resolutions regarding examination and study regulations, as well as doctoral and habilitation regulations
- in the adoption of resolutions regarding the course offerings
- when making decisions regarding proposals for the appointment of honorary professors and visiting professors
- when making decisions regarding evaluation results and their implementation
- when proposing candidates for the election of the dean
- during habilitation procedures.
